Monde Norden has spent considerable time in Mexico and has a passion for the country and its culture.
Monde has a background in set decorating and props buying in the New Zealand film industry. She has also owned and run tribal and folk art shops, importing from Morocco, India and Indonesia, hunting through bazaars and markets to bring home a selection of gorgeous homewares unique to the New Zealand market. On one of her many visits to Mexico Monde spotted the Acapulco chair and instantly loved it – the design, the colours and the era and way of life the style embodied. The next step in importing the chair into New Zealand was a logical one.
